You may have never heard of us before. We’re not the biggest and we certainly don’t have the exposure of a multi-national corporation. We started as contractors. Hard working crews, 6 a.m. to well past dark, living in Carharts and eating lunch on stacks of lumber and drywall. Our specialty was interior and exterior wall finishing and we built a very successful company as contractors.
As we grew through the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, so did the demand for custom installation of gypsum products such as wall niche’s, domes, and columns. Unlimited Designs , our parent company, currently supplies custom architectural products on a global scale and is highly regarded as one of the finest custom Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum and Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete product manufacturers in the world today.
As Unlimited Designs continued to grow, so did our frustration with our choices for imitation stone that was available on the market. Lead times were sometimes 10 weeks, and we were never really SOLD on any of the stone we laid for our jobs. Nothing resembled what we saw every day-The Great Rocky Mountains. We live in the Rocky Mountains, we know what the real stuff looks like. So one day we went up into the Mountains and found the perfect stones for a single pattern and made molds using those stones STRAIGHT OUT OF THE ROCKIES. Thus was the birth of Rocky Mountain Stone Products in the late 90’s.
We went to school and studied the process
Our custom architectural fabrication business (Unlimited Designs) had been using rubber molding techniques for years, so the molding process was not new to our team. Our background with Stucco and exterior surfaces also gave us a foundation in cementitious mixtures and applications. Finally, we learned how to make the stones lightweight with a mix of cement, pumice, water and color (not really rocket science).
Then we scoured the high peaks, river bottoms, scree slides, cliffs, ledges, and meadows of the Rocky Mountains. From well above 10,000 ft near Yellowstone to well below the deserts near the Grand Canyon we searched for the Real McCoy.

Our products have now expanded to over 17 different styles and over 70 color patterns of the most unique and true to life forms of real stones-just like you would see in the Great Rocky Mountains. Our mold vault contains an amazing collections of stones only found in the Western US.
